Promoted! Now a Power BI Developer..

Promoted 10 months into my first tech role….

When I started my first tech role as a Data Analyst creating Power Platforms Solutions, I wasn’t quite sure what tech or area to specialise in. So I decided to ‘learn it all’ to a decent standard and seek opportunities to optimise the use of the Power Platform to improve business processes.

I created the company’s first chatbot using Copilot, developed various apps and flows. I had even dabbled in side projects like being the company blogger and setting up the company’s first Social Committee. But it was Power BI that caught my imagination(!).

I have always been a seemingly contradictory combination of ‘science geek and artist’ at heart and simply put, Power BI encompassed all my key interests in one neat application.

My manager recently gave me the good news that I had been promoted to Power BI Developer. For once I am in a job I love doing, love learning about and can see many avenues for progression. To anyone wavering on whether to take the plunge and change career to the Power Platform -do it! You won’t regret it.

I forgot to mention the best bit -I still get to create really cool Power Platform solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot and Power Pages. Exciting times ahead!
