What is Dynamics 365?

Dynamics 365 is a collection of Business Application (‘Biz Apps’) tools from Microsoft. It is built on the Power Platform so essentially the apps are ‘out of the box’ PowerApps that have been customised to fit a specific business area such as Human Resources (HR) or Marketing. They can be further customised to fit the client’s requirements and ‘connectors’ can be used to extend their capabilities.

Dynamics 365 includes apps that fall within two main sections: Customer Engagement ‘CE’ (a Customer Relationship Management ‘CRM’ system) and Finance & Operations ‘F&O’ (an Enterprise Resource Planning ‘ERP’ system) as shown in the image. There is also Dynamics Business Central, an ‘all-in-one’ solution suitable for small to medium sized businesses.
